About
Normal translators hand you flat, word-for-word lines, so the relationship gets lost in the gap, the nicknames, the tone, the inside jokes, the way you actually talk to each other. Rakkan fixes that. Every message is translated with your context, your relationship, your register, the people in your lives, and the last things you said, so it reads like you and not like a machine. Before anything sends, you get a back-translation in your own words, so you see exactly what you're about to say and catch it if it's off. It works like a proper messenger: text, photos, voice notes, GIFs, reactions, read receipts, and one-to-one video calls with live translated captions. It quietly remembers facts about your relationship over time, so the translation keeps getting more you. We started Thai-first, because cross-language Thai relationships are everywhere and nobody builds for them properly, then opened it up. Seven languages today (English, Thai, Khmer, Lao, German, Italian, Slovak), any pair, more coming. Live in early access on Android and web, iOS next. Who it's for: couples across a language barrier, long-distance couples, and the families and friends around them who want to actually talk, not translate.
