PDF to Markdown Converter by MarkItDown converts PDF files into editable Markdown (.md) right in your browser. Add a PDF, preview headings, paragraphs and tables, then copy the text, download a .md file, or continue in the online Markdown editor. You choose how files are processed: cloud conversion uploads temporarily and deletes the file after processing, while on-device conversion keeps the source in your browser. Scanned PDFs are supported — local OCR runs free in the browser, and AI OCR is available with an account (10 pages per month on Free). Standard conversion is free without signing in, with files up to 20MB and three files per batch. Results work well in Obsidian, GitHub and documentation workflows, and multiple results can be downloaded together as a ZIP. A Pro plan raises limits to 100MB files, batches of 30 and 500 AI OCR pages per month.
